Each year we hold our Illiana Watermelon Queen Contest at our annual Watermelon Convention.  The winner of this year's annual Illiana Queen Pageant is Miss Sylvia Lane Crowder of Cayuga, Indiana.  After receiving training in Orlando, Florida with the National Watermelon Promotion Board, she will be busy attending the various promotions throughout the country.

Our thanks to all the contestants who participated in this year's contest.  I heard many say they were glad not to be in the judges shoes.  It must have been a very difficult decision.  Any one of the contestants would have made a fine representative for the Association.
