 The 2005 Illiana Watermelon Queen is Elizabeth Jane Coffman.
Elizabeth is the 19 year-old daughter of Bobe and Brenda Coffman of
Vincennes, Indiana. She currently attends Vincennes University
majoring in physical therapy. Elizabeth plans to further her
education and receive a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. She
plans to work in a sports medicine facility. Elizabeth's special
honors include: 2004 4-H Foundation award, 2004 Danny Mouzin
Memorial Scholarship, Top 15 in state dress review at the Indiana State
Fair, 4 yr. Active member of the Relay for Life, 2005 Certified in CPR
and First Aid, 2003 Certified Nursing Assistant, Who's Who Among
American High School Students, 2003 Cheer Coach at E-Z Tumbling and
Gymnastics, 2002-2003 IASC Convention and conducted numerous workshops,
2003 1st runner-up at the Indiana State Fair fashion review, 2003 4-H
Washington DC achievement trip, Sophomore homecoming attendant, 2002 4-H
Reserve Grand Champion Clothing, 2002 awarded letter jacket, 2000-2002
Choir and Show Choir, 2001 4-H Grand Champion Fashion Review in Clothing
Senior Division, 2001 4-H Grand Champion in Gift Wrapping, 2001 Silver
Tray winner for 4-H Fashion Review and Clothing, 2001 4-H Consumer
Clothing Plaque winner and 2001 4-H Savings Bond winner.
Elizabeth's favorite hobbies and activities include: member of St.
Vincent's Catholic Church, swimming, running and being with friends and
shopping.
Elizabeth
was crowned by her successor 2004 Illiana Watermelon Queen Megan Scott.
Delisle Produce of Vincennes, Indiana sponsored Elizabeth for the
pageant. Elizabeth received a $1,000 scholarship from Tri-Wall,
$1,000 wardrobe allowance from McKinley Custom Lime Spreading and Global
Produce, trophy, crown and banner. She will be a paid public
relations ambassador for the Illiana Watermelon Association for 1 year.
As queen, Elizabeth will make appearances throughout Indiana and
Illinois and across the United States at grocery stores, food shows,
fairs, state fairs, schools, nursing
homes, day cares, festivals, lobby in Washington DC and compete for the
title of 2006 National Watermelon Queen in Lake Tahoe, NV.
